The 3D-ness of these wheels doesn’t work for me. They lack the cleanliness of the old Monoblocks.

I feel like it needs more sidewall in 18" or 19" they would look good but 21" is just ridiculous, doesn’t help that I find that car really ugly.

I have to say, I kind of like them... both real and toy scale... but then again I have been looking for the resurrection of turbine wheels with concave disc centers for a while now...

I would love to see modern Manaray Turbina S wheels in 17-20" modern sizes, rather than the rare out-of-production 14 and 15s.

That Autozam AZ1 is a seriously TINY car, much smaller than an AW11 MR2. those are 14" wheels.

Not quite! If you look at how the spokes meet that huge circle of the hub on each wheel, then you’ll notice that the AMG wheels does have a small radius to blend the spokes into to the main hub where the SC430 wheels just abruptly terminate.

actually, I prefer the full-disc, spoke to the edge concave design, rather than the convex disc with a lip.

I wouldn’t argue if it were more concave, and lower offset, so that the bead of the tire was the outermost plane of the wheel, rather than the edge of the disc section being the outermost plane

It would also be cool if there were hidden vanes on the back side of the wheel, and inset deep into the slot openings near the edge, and to turn this into a functional pseudo turbine wheel, without looking like a turbine wheel, to manage a balance between slipstream along the side of the car, as well as brake cooling.
